I have saved a game and and then tried to return and open it and AOE kept crashing. However, I know this isn't best practice (last time I did this.myĬomputer was a bit hard to restart.I kept getting errors also I don't think you can save games in safe mode. The game graphics display perfectly fine in safe mode, I also made my safe mode have sound. I tried playing the game in safe mode (I know this isn't what safe mode was for, but I was desperate). I've poked around with this for awhile and out of desperation I also had the minor color issue (ocean looking like it had tons of rocks in it), but that problem was easily solved.
This problem makes it impossible to play the game, which works just fine otherwise. The colors are changing at a fast frame rate (flickering) in lines across the screen. The game starts up just fine (initial graphics areįine until we get to the select what you want to do screen), however when I start to play the game it is as if the screen is having video interference. I am able to install Age of Empires and Rise of Rome (the first expansion) without problems. I have a Dell Studio 1558 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and my video card is ATI Mobility Radeon 5470.
